hmmm...stamps, ink, or something else?

You all know that I've been off work for a while, well I'm back to work full time now and it's messing with my muse! My inkpads, ribbons, and stamps just sit in the corner and cry cuz it seems like I don't have any time for them anymore! Last night I made them very jealous by using RUB ON'S! No stamps or ink at all! The ribbon was making fun of them, cuz I still pulled that out - don't know if I can make a card without ribbon! Anyway, take a peek and let me know what you think :) I can't take credit for the color combo I found it as a challenge on another Blog, but don't remember whose!!!!

It's a case!

I had a workshop this weekend and Chris had me do a very simple one layer card that she had seen on SCS. She has a great eye and she was the hostess so how could I tell her no?

Anyway, I had run out of Whisper White cardstock and the original card used silver organdy and silver cord both of which SU! doesn't sell anymore, so I begged for some basic gray taffeta.

This was the final result:
This was the one I had originally played with:

Spam post?

Well I'm not sure, but I think I got my first "Spam" post.

Because I'm not sure what/who posted that link in my tutorial comment section I feel that I must enable the "comment moderation" option of the blog.

What that means is that if you are a "real" person and you want to leave me a comment, you will be required to type in a set of letters or numbers to prove that you are a "real" person. If it is computer generated "spam" or virus's they will not be able to post.

This will protect your computer and mine!

Have you lost your marbles???

Well you'd better find them, cuz you're going to need them for this technique!

Rolling Marble Backgrounds can add a touch of whimsy, give you a unique foilage look, or look like a storm brewing! Let's get started!
First gather your supplies: An empty, flat container (the Stampin' Up! stamp boxes work perfectly!) several marbles, beads, ball bearings anything that rolls! 2 to 3 coordinating colors of re-inkers, cardstock, double sided tape.

Step 1: Take your first color of ink - I always start with the lightest color first - and place 2/3 drops of ink onto the bottom of the container and using your double sided tape, attach your cardstock to the lid.

Step 2: Close the box and roll the marbles around in the ink, then flip the box over and roll the marbles onto the cardstock.

Step 3: Repeat steps one and two with your next ink colors - I use a paper towel and wipe out the previous color in between re-inkers.

Step 4: Keep on rollin', rollin', rollin, till you've got the coverage you want :)

Step 5: Finish as desired!

Now you show me your take on this technique!

And a Sneak Peek!

I'll be posting a new tutorial either late Tuesday or early Wednesday - here's a peek at it ;)

The butterfly was stamped on white c/s with ruby red ink, then stamped on So Saffron c/s with pumpkin pie ink, I cut the wings out and "paper pieced" them on top of the white c/s layer. I used a black marker to highlight the body and some spots. The wasibi c/s was scalloped using my corner rounder with the guard off, after I layered that on I did the same thing on the bottom of the So Saffron card base. The background is the rolling marble technique.

Check back in to see how this was made!!!

Kick Stand Cards

I've had a request for a "kick stand" card. I know I make this harder than it has to be, but I just have to keep adding more and more layers!!!
The Sailboat is from the "Winds of Grace" set and the flowers are from the "One of a Kind" set, what do you think?

Some new stuff!

Yikes! I can't believe how long I've ignored updating this!

So I'll make it up to you now:)
Okay, I know this is "contra-band" but isn't this "uptown girl" from CTMH just adorable? She was an image rak from my friend Joni from Muskegon!

Some more contra-band, this adorable pup is from Whipper Snapper, and he just makes me smile! Can you believe I used Yo-Yo Yellow??? Amazing what SCS can talk you into trying!!!

Good news

The doctor has finally given me permission to drive and as long as I don't tug or lift I can even demo again! So I'll be getting a hold of some of you to set some dates! I don't want anyone to miss out on Sale-A-Bration!

This is my latest creation, I made it with my Cuttlebug, sticker paper, and some awesome glitter and faux gemstones from my "secret elf" over on SCS - I still haven't figured out who it was, but I'm loving this glitter!!!
