A Box with a View

We made this little treat box at my last stamp camp with Pale Plum and So Saffron c/s, we wheeled the Friendly Words wheel on the box, stamped the bird and saying from the Friends 24-7 set, punched the window and tied it closed. This is basically a take off of the 2, 4, 6, 8, box done in landscape instead of portrait.

Gesso resist

Here is my version of the Gesso Resist technique over on the SCS Resources page.
I used Upsy Daisy, a magazine page, Ruby red, Mellow Moss, and Cameo Coral. The Moss is texturized with the new Big Shot embossing plates, the Ruby is stamped with the friends by definition stamp, the daisies are sponged around with Summer Sun, Ruby Red, and Brocade Blue. I finished it off with some ribbon and a rhinestone brad.

The Hinge Card

Another craze right now is the Hinge card, you start with a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 white base, cover the bottom half with c/s of your choice, then use a coordinating color on the top half, but you don't adhere that one, you use a brad through all three layers so that the top half swings up and you write your message or sentiment under that. So I have a white bottom (I know TMI) the orchid is attached at the bottom, the sage hinges up and you read the white portion under the sage.

Jumping on the latest craze

One of the latest projects over at SCS is the flower pot pocket card - isn't this just to cute?

My pot is really rust and all my flowers are from the Birds and Blooms sizzlet die.

Sweet Little Purse

We did this little purse at a recent stamp camp - there are four (yes FOUR) top note dies in this little guy, the stamps are from Flight of the Butterfly, we added some ribbon and a rhinestone brad and called it good. The inside has a cute little bag that is the perfect size for sharing some chocolate ;~)

Enjoy the Journey

Have I shared this one? I got this image from some of my WishRak friends, I added some Bashful blue, Bordering Blue, and Buckaroo Blue along with a punched sentiment some cord and a button - I love this train!

Coming Back To My Beloved

As you know I'm a self proclaimed luver of all crafty things, but no matter how much I love to try new stuff I always come back to SU!!!

I can't take credit for the use of the birthday candle on the cupcake I was inspired by one similar to this ;~)

The background was done with my new SU! texture plates, the scallop is the new die, the ovals are the punches, the cupcake is from Crazy for Cupcakes, that's Pretty in pink Taffeta ribbon, the cupcake was watercolored, and I used Stickles on the frosting - The inside says "Happy cake and candle day!"

Birthday Boy

Here's another oldie technique - Rubberband Brayering - I was hoping to make the background look like streamers. The balloons are colored with Copics and covered with stickles.

Branching out with Art Declassified #4

This is the last one I have for you (right now anyway) from the Art Declassified series. This is a set that Karen designed just for the Michigan Mingle this year. I did the "reti-form" technique in the background, and added some sequins and brads to the main image!

Branching out with Art Declassified #3

Number three in my Art Declassified series is from Karen's "Hideouts" collection - obviously this one is Paris, but she also has London and Shanghai :) I'm still holding out for a beachy, woodsy one, as that would be my hideout of choice!

For this card I stamp the images in Black onto White c/s then highlighted a few areas with Copic Markers, added some ribbon, cord, and a vintage circle thingie with an eyelet and called her good.

Branching out with Art Declassified #2

This is another "Photo Stamp" from Art Declassified, her name is Doris Belle - ain't she purdy?
The background stamp is Vintage Beauty #1 also from A.D. The sentiment is computer generated, on the inside it says "it's how you do your hair ;) "

I stamped the background randomly, spritzed it with Glimmer Mist, then ran it through the cuttlebug Diamonds in the rough folder, added some ribbon and pop dots and decided she was good to go!

Branching out #1

This is a "Photo Stamp" from Art declassified, the background is the old SU! Fine Lace, the color combo is Pink Pirouette, Taken with Teal, and Cool Caribbean.

I'm quite taken with these stamps!

STAMP CAMP DAY!

I'm off doing my Spring Fling Stamp Camp today, I'll be back with some goodies later this weekend - stay tuned!!!

Clean and Simple

Sometimes you just need something quick and easy right? The ladybugs are marching across the White cardstock, but one set of bugs came out of the shadows in the "spotlight" technique for just a little POP of color!

WICKED Sketch

This is the April Wicked sketch that Emma issued, it didn't turn out exactly like I wanted but I guess it's okay.
The bronze background is the new "Tastes of Textiles" paper pack from SU, the ribbon is Valet Ribbon Originals, the butterfly is the Butterfly Big Shot die, and the texture is from the new Manhattan Flower embossing folder.

I was hoping to make the butterfly look like he was nestled inside the the flower but it just didn't happen - think I was trying to hard......

Gimme That Wink

Okay I'm not a big fan of the My Favorite Thing headless people, but this appealed to my Twisted and Demented side ;) - the inside says "Next time you're the pool boy and I'm the wealthy divorcee"

Now I've gotta find a way to slip it to DH in a creative manner :))))

Baby Series #2

The second "home made" gift I came up with for my friend expecting twins - Banks!

I found the jars at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2.00 each, DH cut slots in the lids, and I added the SU Nursery Necessities Decor Elements.

Baby Series #1

One of my SCS WishRak friends is expecting Twin Boys anyday now! We're holding a "cyber baby shower" for her and we have to include something homemade, here's the first one I came up with, it's a magnet photo frame that I altered into a plaque.

WICKED Color/Technique Combo

One of my Michigan Mingle (Minger) friends was the SUO, SCS Wicked stamper this month - yayyy Emma! One of her challenges was to make a card with Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip.

I used those colors plus added the Masking and Reverse Masking techniques by using my Butterfly Big Die, Upsey Daisy set, and Baroque Motifs set.

It is WICKED awesome *I think*

Oldies, But Goodies

Isn't this older SU! a classic? I love the spotlight technique done on just one butterfly, hope you do too!

Spring Robin

I love the new "Friends 24/7" set paired with a textured background and some pretties, what do you think?

For Emma, Kim, and Debra

Emma issued a Wicked challenge to get creative with any SU Flower....
Kim had a friend who gave away all of this lovely Vinyl....
Debra had the Bigshot and the Daisy Die handy....

TA DA! A summery, daisy, iced pitcher!!!

I couldn't have done it without you ladies :)

Time For A Tea Party

Okay I had to play with something different, you know sometimes you just have to stray from first love ;)

I don't think you can make anything bad when you pair it with SU! Top Note die, and this tea sipping Griffie just is tooooooooo cute on the top note!

Wanna see something made by me?

Here ya go!

The first one is the Rustic Rooster Hostess set from SU! Isn't he handsome?

The second one is the retired In Full Bloom set and papers from SU! I had to learn to love this set, now that I do, it's not going anywhere ;)

The third one is my "Magic Tissue" technique, using a napkin from my friend, co-worker and customer Sandy - she loves to challenge me to use printed napkins and kleenex, so far I've risen to every challenge :))))

Thanks to Michelle - CMUgrad

Yes I'm home and yes I had a blast, even though I missed Joni and Barb :(

No way can I take pictures of everything I brought home with me, but I will provide a link to the majority of them - Michigan Mingle 2009

One of the things I can show you is the goodies I've collected since January of this year from my Secret Sister alone, lookie here:

See that piece of paper? It's a gift certificate to Cornish Heritage Farms! Now to figure out what I want!!!
