For the men in my life!

This sweet and simple card is for my guys, everything here is SU! except the Liquid Applicate that I used to make the "foam" on the beer ;)

Paper Tole and Texture

This beauty is "paper tole" with just means that I stamped the rose three times and cut it out three times at different intervals and then popped each layer up on top of the other. The photo doesn't show the dimension of this one very well, but it does showcase the layout and texture quite prettily!

Again everything is SU! except for the Stickles I used on the edges of the flowers.

Dreaming in Purple and Sage

Isn't this just yummy? I love these colors together and the sketch was so much fun!

Everything is Stampin' Up except the butterfly punches and the scalloped circle die cuts (although that is SU paper)

Alligator Purse anyone?

Here's another project that I made this past weekend - a faux alligator skin purse - isn't it beautimous???

Everything on this one is Stampin' Up!

Ready for some new stuff?

This past weekend was "play along with the dirty girls" over on SCS. It is an honor to get to play with these ladies because they spend time each month bringing us their very best work!

I'm going to start this week out by showing you my most favoritest card I made (yes I know that not a word)

Here is my Summertime blues card! I'm pretty pleased with this one!!! With the exception of the Dew Drops and the Rhinestones everything you see here is Stampin' UP!

Memorialize a child

One of the best things about paper crafting, whether it be card making or scrapbooking or altering, is doing something to bring joy to others.

I happened upon this > http://www.craftcritique.com/2009/07/call-to-serve-butterfly-project.html

"More than 1,500,000 innocent children were murdered during the Holocaust." Lord you know it from your history books, but seeing that number and knowing that was just infants and children gave me a very sick feeling!

If I can make a few butterflies to help show the significance of the number so be it! I'd like to think it's my way of saying "today is your birthday so where ever you are, see the colors and smile"

I found the directions for these accordion butterflies here > http://uklassinus.blogspot.com/2008/06/butterflies.html

Both are made with Stampin' Up! Tea Party papers, the one on the card is compromised of two squares the upper wings are 3 1/4" square, the lower wings are 2 1/4" square.

The larger butterfly is made of an 8 1/2" square and a 7 1/2" square.

Birthday Ensemble

One of my bestest friends has a birthday coming up, I used the Tea Party DS papers from Stampin' Up! to create her card and a little box for her gift - she collects miniature perfume bottles so this sweet little box will fit two little bottles comfortably along with some tissue paper poofing out prettily from the top!

Ensemble together:

Today is DH's b'day

Think I planned enough all at once?

This is a "Two Tone Texture" card using the SU texture plates, the Top Note die, and the Autumn days set, I'm loving this pheasant embossed!

Open House Day!

GULP! I'm not ready for this! Something you may not know about me (or maybe you've figured it out on your own ;~) is that I not a center of attention kinda girl! We're looking about about 50 to 100 people prancing through my house in about five hours, I worry about everything! Will the dogs be okay? Will someone find hair in their food? Will someone get sick from the food? Is the house clean enough? Will someone fall down and sue us? I mean good grief Charlie Brown take a breathe!!!

Anyway, I want to be like this frog and just pop in and out of someone's pocket!

By the way, this is the Faux Denim technique, another lovely that I cannot wait to share with my stamp clubs ;~)

Christmas in July

This was my WishRak sample for the Christmas in July challenge. It had to be non-traditional and include texture. The background is the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder, the image is SU's Holiday Lineup, colored with pinks, purples, and aqua's - not to bad....

Artsy Fartsy or Butt Ugly?

Okay a couple of weeks ago over on Splitcoast the "inspiration" challenge was a way cool art gallery. If you're not familiar with an inspiration challenge, basically what happens is you're shown a piece of artwork or a photo, or something and you have to let that "inspire" you to make a card. Well this is where my muse took me and I'm still trying to figure out if I like it!!!

Most everything is SU!, I don't know where the face image is from I got it in an image exchange through WishRak.

Still lovin' this set

Another SU! creation - again I don't know why I waited so long to get this set, I love creating with this one - Cheers everyone!

Took me long enough!

I swear just about everyone else has already tried this technique, me I'm just getting around to it! Of course I only just gotten this set as long, again I don't know why I waited! This is Fifth Avenue Floral, with the Little Leaves die cuts, paired with the new in colors - Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry! The technique is ink splashing (or some such thing, I don't remember the actual name) anyway I can't wait to share this one with my stamp clubs!

Desparately seeking Ice Cream

I think I need some ice cream, ice cream fixes everything right?
I made this darling ice cream cone without any stamping, it's all punches, texture plates and dry embossing. Everything is Stampin' Up! except for the liquid pearls that I used on the edges of the ice cream "scoops"

Life is crazy

Just a couple more weeks and hopefully my life will get back to normal!

This past week has been a whirlwind of things at work and trying to get Ben and Jake all settled for college!

This coming week will be just about as bad! This Saturday is Jake's graduation open house so I'll be looking at a house full of people next weekend, then my SIL and niece fly in from Texas for a week, the following weekend is a girls only camp out and trail ride (which I'm actually looking forward to!)

THEN, hopefully I can get back into my stampin' groove cuz I sure haven't seen it lately!

Blog award from Ann

One of my Michigan Mingle friends nominated me for this award, check out Ann's blog here > http://www.annscreativenook.blogspot.com/

Now, as with any of these blog awards, the idea is to pass on the appreciation to fellow bloggers.
There a couple of fun "rules" (well, more like guidelines) to this award:

Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.

Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

It's very hard for me to nominate that many people as I spend more time on SCS than I do blog hopping, but here's some of the blogs that I do love.

Look Ma, No Embellishments

Sometimes a card just speaks to you, ya know? This card is colored with Copic Markers so it's very vivid! The stars and fireworks are color with Spica Glitter pens, when I got all done I didn't think it needed any embellishments!

Bright Christmas!

How's this for an eye opening Christmas card? White, Celery, and Teal, add some Stickles and Rhinestones and you have one glitzy card!!!

Getting a jump start

No I'm not ready for Halloween, heck it just became summer here in Michigan!!! But, we're doing some cards to send overseas to the troops and it takes a while for them to get there, so hence we need to jumpstart that - look for Christmas tomorrow!
