A Salty Challenge
I pulled out an oldie but goodie for the Wow challenge this week - Salted Background! I wheeled my flowers with basic grey onto the glossy, then colorwashed over that, then salted and dried it - I love the spotty, filmy finish with this technique. It reminds me of a rosy sunset. You can find Beth's tutorial here> http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee...ed_background/
Have fun!!!

Here's a "Spirelli" challenge
This was my challenge to my follow demo's over on SCS - Give it a shot and tell what you think!
Here's a link to the directions: Spirelli Steps
Here's my sample - I used crochet cotton in order to show you the "look" a little closer, however I do have to say that I think a finer thread would look prettier ;)

VSN, The final three
This is the end of the VSN challenges for Fashion Weekend!
I sure hope you've enjoyed my versions of the challenges,
And if you had a chance to play along with me, that's even better!
Challenge #17 - To do the Cracked glass technique (I was hungry when I made the berry ones!)
Challenge #18 - Burberry Plaid (secret here - I didn't know what Burberry plaid was, had to Google it!) Once I saw it I recognized it, just didn't know it had a special name!
Challenge #19 - Paper Piecing, basically you stamp onto a piece of patterned paper then cut it out and layer it over a stamped image on neutral c/s
So there you go - Nineteen challenges! NOW you know what I've been up to!!!!
VSN 16 - and my challenge to you
VSN 14 and 15
Challenge #14 - to make a "Leather and Metal" card (keeping in mind that small children may be looking!) So my background is "faux Suede" using Liquid applicate (be on the look out for a future tutorial here!) and my Metal is on my tag.
Challenge #15 - was a sketch challenge - isn't this just sweet!?! The imagine gave from a website (I can't remember the name right now!!!) andyway need to subscribe to it and they sell the images for you to download, but occasionally you'll get lucky enough to get a free one. Anyway I thought these kiddo's were perfect for this challenge!

VSN 12 and 13
VSN 10 and 11
Challenge #10, make a monochromatic blue card with Blue Jeans texture - since I'd live in jeans if I could this was a fun one!!!
Challenge #11, make a card with wedding elegance, so I went pretty simple with this one, simple is elegant to me! A cuttlebug background a simple sentiment, a copper layer, some copper brads, and some fabric flowers that I dyed with my alcohol inks!

VSN 5 and 6
Challenge #5 was to make a card using the re-inkers and baby wipes technique to make a tie dye look. Now this isn't my strong suit, but I tried! The focal flowers were done with more yellows and on textured c/s. Where as the background was done with more blues on smooth c/s - in real life it makes for an interesting contrast.
Challenge # 6 was to use "Animal prints" YIKES! Really not my strong suit and not something I own! But I remembered this tissue paper that I'd gotten some glass stuff packed in through a mailing and I dug that out! The tissue paper is just glued to regular c/s and then embellished. This is an SCS sketch challenge, the poly shrink charm I already had made and the top of the card is pretty much all punches!
See you at noon tomorrow!!!!!
VSN 3 and 4
The third challenge of the night was to use a "sketch" style stamp. Any colors, any layout, but it had to be sketchy - I pulled out petal prints, did some faux tearing, added the sentiment layer, a flower and "aged" the ribbon by heating it with my heat gun.
The fourth challenge of the night was to make a "Genie bag" this came off pretty fast! Some patterned paper, some punches, and cut and paste - DONE!
It's VSN weekend
VSN is "Virtual stamp night" over at SCS - that means several people have been super busy to bring you some special themed challenges every hour on the hour from 6:00 to 11:00 on Friday night and from noon to 11:00 on Saturday! This addition of VSN's theme is Fashion Weekend!
The catch? You've only got about 45 minutes to get your card done!
Our first challenge of the night was an inspiration challenge - here's mine - I used alcohol inks to make my background, then I took an extra piece of the background and embossed my flower, used water color pencils to add more color, tied on a quick ribbon, added some brads and "ta-da" it's done!
The second challenge of the night was to use thread on a card, any kind of thread used in any way - I hand sewed a back stitched frame around kitty, stamped outside my oval mask, added a prima flower and some stickles - look here >
Stay tuned more to come!!!!

Some playing
I have a new customer that's requested a party/stamp camp at her home, here's some of the ideas I'm playing with so far. What do you think?
By Request
My friend Joni - aka jstarbright over on SCS - requested a picture of my cone box. So this one is for her, but if you want to know what I did, here's the deets
The cone is made of Soft sky cardstock, stamped with the Baroque Motiffs set, I added some Chocolate PP to the very bottom to hide the seam, and added the flower as a focal point. The handle has some sparkle added to it with glitter (Joni just LOVES glitter - not) and is attached with eyelets - thanks to the Crop-a-dile.
This second one is a close up of a card I'm thinking about for an upcoming stamp camp, it's also done in Soft Sky, but I used Basic Gray as my accent on this one. And yes more glitter - luv ya Joni!!!
