Magic Tissues

What do all of these cards have in common? They were made with a napkin!!!! Scroll on down and I'll tell you how I did it!

1. You need a pretty printed napkin, kleenex, paper towel, you know some kind of tissue.
(Note, no you will not be able to use tissue paper you've stamped on, unless you've stamped with all waterproof ink - or you like the runny ink look that's your choice - but you can use stamped tissue paper with the HOT CARD technique which is linked at the very bottom of this post)
2. You'll need to know how many "ply" that tissue is, in this unsuspecting napkin's case it's a 3 ply napkin.

3. Crumble up that tissue to make the tissues easier to separate, you only want the top layer.

4. Water down some cheap, washable, school glue, just a little not much. (you're gonna get messy, you WANT something that's easy to clean up!)
5. Spread that glue all over a piece of GP 110 Cardstock from Walmart.
6. Now glue the top layer only of the napkin onto the cardstock.

7. Yes some glue will seep through the tissue that's normal, BUT now is time to add the magic.
8. Sprinkle glitter, pearlex, or other shimmery/sparkly medium over that wet glue.

9. Now let the whole mess dry and come back in an hour.

10. Okay it's been an hour - cut the whole thing apart and make your focal images to use just like a stamped focal image!

Or you could just use the>>> "Hot Card" <<<>

With A Little Help From My Friends

None of us can afford every crafting item that we see, so my friends down in WishRak help me along with stamped images, Cuttlebug backgrounds and other items that we share with each other.

The Script background is from my WishRak Friends, the image is from my friend Joni - aka jstarbright

On this one the images and the background are from my WishRak friends. I kept looking at Beautiful Beach but I never bought, so I'm really enjoying these images.

Ahhhhh....my frogs - I let the cat outta da bag that I'm do not like frogs and toads, nasty creature - ick - guess how I have in abundance now? Stuffed frogs, frog socks, frog keychains, frog figurines, and lots and lots of frog images!

Only with the help of my friends could I have this much bounty!!!!

VSN Anyone?

Last night my "Sweetheart" friends and I got together on our chat thread and decided to play along with VSN! We all came together when Joni - aka jstarbright - was one of the coordinators for the very first VSN I ever got involved with! I don't seem to have the time (or energy if I'm being honest) to do VSN every single time anymore and I did fall asleep last night after only completing two challenges, however I was wide awake this morning and I did three more.

Now to be totally honest... some of these images I had stamped, I just needed to do something with them... hope you like what I came up with!

One of the challenges was to use something new within the past two months, well this guy is my newest set! I actually designed this card for a stamp camp that I did, so I already had Mr. Deer and the saying stamped, I just had to finish him up and putting him together.

Another one was What's your obsession? Well my family would say stamping, but when it gets to this time of year, my thoughts go to gardening. I already have four hydrangea bushes and I just ordered four more - does that count as an obsession? This is another image I had pre-stamped and designed for my stamp camp, so I just had to finish it up and assemble it.
I've been wanting to do an acetate card for quite a while, and I finally talked Chris - aka ScrappyPappy - into letting me hang onto this set for her (Y'know I *almost* feel guilty for it too) But Chris is sweet and honest and she had to admit that he sees more ink when I have him at my house than he does when he's at her house ;~) And you know those cowboys, they gotta see action!

A long lost love, this is one of the very first sets I ever bought, it's timeless and there isn't anything you can't do with it! So why do I leave it on the shelf and rarely pull it out anymore? I've actually had the trees stamped for a while, my friend and co-worker Sandy brought a photo into me of a card similar to this (so this is basically a case) and I fell in love with it, the whole thing goes together quickly and with the glitter on the trees it just seems to be enough - so no other embellishments helps in the simple, elegant, quickness of the whole thing.
Ahhhh.... Inchies .... I never really got into the whole "inchie" craze, but one of the original sweethearts Denise - aka resqbarbie - hosted a challenge to use them, so in sweetheart spirit I had to play along, this is another quickie ;~)

I hope you likey!!!

Wanna Camp?

As some of you may know one of my favorite things after stamping and scrapping happens to be camping! Well my friend Tracy (aka TracyM. - don't forget the period) over at SCS sent me this card

Well I had to try to figure out how to make it myself and for lack of knowing the appropriate name I'm calling it a Tent Card because it kinda looks like a Tent as it's going together.
I tried to do a picture tutorial here, I hope you can figure out what I did!

Start with an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of CS, score at 4 1/4" and again at 5 3/4"

Turn and score at 2 3/4"

Score at a diagonal to a point (see the pencil lines) between the 4 1/4 and 5 3/4 score lines.

Fold your score lines as shown.
See it's starting to look like a tent.

Flip the fold lines in an up, till you start to see a diamond on the front.
Before decorating it should look like this.
Here's another view
And Ta Da! When you're all done you should get this!!!!

Gift For You (tag)

Alrighty let's do something fun! I picked up this blog tag from my friend Karen. It sounded like something different and I had to try it. I hope you want to play!

This game involves a few of my favorite things: handmade goods, creativity, and gift-giving. Here are the tagging instructions: The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. There are a few uh provisos, a couple of quid pro quos (said in Karen's best Genie from Aladdin voice):

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It’ll be done this year. (might be a little while as my mojo seems to be on vacation without me)
4- You have no clue what it’s going to be (hope you like surprises)
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.

The first 5 people to post the tag on their blog and a comment to this post will win a homemade gift made by me!

In your post, feel free to tell me some of the things in life that inspire you and make you happy.
